Leadership is rarely innate—It’s something you grow into - and training is not enough!

When I arrived in London 10 years ago, I was seeking a role in HR. With a background in management consulting, executive search, and HR experience in professional services, I believed I could be a valuable asset to an HR team - either as a Deputy to the HR Director or leading talent development. At the time, I was part of a group of professionals exploring their next career steps. One day, a participant mentioned that his company was searching for an HR Director and recommended my CV, placing it at the top of the pile. 🤔 I was genuinely surprised; I hadn’t envisioned myself at that level. ‼️
I went through the interview process, and I didn’t get the position as it was ultimately filled by an internal candidate. However, this experience was 💡 transformative 💡 - it helped me see myself as a leader. When the next opportunity came my way, I was prepared, with the right mindset and confidence to embrace it.

⭐ You can attend leadership training, be identified as part of the next generation of leaders or even be promoted to a leadership position. However, to become an effective and recognized leader, you must first see yourself as ONE and define your PURPOSE in leading. The more you envision yourself as a leader, the more opportunities to lead will come your way.

⭐ Perhaps you’ve been told that to reach a leadership position, you need to enhance your presence and be more vocal in meetings. While these qualities are indeed important, true courage to step forward begins with 💡 picturing yourself as a leader, with a purpose. 💡
Organizations also have a role to play by providing leadership opportunities and acknowledging when you’ve risen to the challenge.

🌟 But it all starts with YOU. 🌟
